Organic Garden project is located in Macquaire Street, Sydney. The site brief calls for living spaces which involved development commercial building of restaurant, cafe and interaction element with surrounding environment. The model design which will reflect to site requirements, some of the key elements will apply into the design concept; this is to reinforce the identity characteristics of City of Sydney’s and neighbourhoods.

My philosophy of architectural practice is to creating a sustainable architecture building which integrated with the environment and the culture of the cities.
The concept design is base on the parametric structure and organic form of geometry to create innovate form and interesting geometry model. The fundamental method of creating this model base on parametric tiling system to constructed the formwork of the model.

The building is constructed with two layer of geometry, and the first layer is the parametric frame for supporting framework and the second layer is the organic shape panel, which apply the unique elements into the structure.

Throughout the resources process of contemporary geometry design, architects like Antoni Gaudí, Jorn Utzon, Frank Gehry, zaha hadid and a lot more architects which has influence and inspired into my design of this project. I was trying to mix elements into my design with parametric structure frame fuse with organic panelling together, to combine this model the organic park. Week 5 - 6 Sources of complex geometry

- Architecture is not an art like painting or sculpture . . . It is a science whose essential aim is to construct solid buildings which deploy the finest of forms and the aptest of dimensions to unite all the parts necessary for their purpose.

- Architects stand to gain much from study of the spectacular advances in geometry in recent decades, such as the growing understanding of cellular patterns in space, tiles, nets and curved surfaces. Some examples of those advances are discussed in detail. I conclude that both architecture and geometry would benefit from a renewed mutual interest.

-The extraordinary structural complexity and economy of construction of materials in living systems, such as the silica skeleton of marine diatoms (Fig. 1(a)), or a wing scale in a butterfly (Fig. 1(b)), remains an ideal for modern materials design that scientists have yet to approach.

- Although there were ‘‘moments of glory’’ along the way, and certainly an amazingly useful ‘‘learning curve’’, in the end I was not able to get beyond the fundamental conservatism that dominates protocol, methodologies, and the limited design visions that constrain the design of buildings in our culture.

- Our thesis is that geometry in this era is no longer pure or static, but should be considered as dependant upon, and constitutive of, a composite of discontinuous and non-linear informatic flows and contingencies: geometry has become contingent.

- This is clearly appropriate for mathematics or physics. However, it is something of a problem for design, in that systems for design must be differentiated from problem solution engineering, and require a flexible and opportunistic relation to the formulation of the state space itself as part of an iterative design process. Rather, it is the generative capacity and acceptance of complexity across multiple registers of design (material, structural, spatial and so on), and importantly their operation within unstable ‘‘contingent environments’’ that is the goal of emerging intelligent design systems.

Ice Molecules

Ice molecules are formed when water under low temperature pressure which frozen into the solid state know as ice. The characteristics of water molecules arrange it structure form of hydrogen bonding, therefore reform into ice molecules. An ice molecule appears in nature in numbers of forms, depending on the surrounding environment which change it shape:   Snowflakes, hail, icicles and ice pellets. The textures of ice molecules are very unique with white transparent surface, which can glow and reflect from light create shiny and smooth texture layer and will draw more attention from any other surrounding object. The complex shapes of snowflakes drawn very interesting geometry spacing, the unison of different patterns of snowflakes and the organic crystals structure form created by Mother Nature it felt like mechanical made.

Throughout this assignment I’ll try to demonstrate the shape and form of  the ice molecules within relationships between geometry spacing which related in form of patterns.  The 13 iteration images within the poster are showing the various geometry surfaces with different input setting, adding new nurbs and controlling the x, y and z parameter.

Iteration 1 – 4
•This demonstrate the organic of geometry applying onto a objects, which show it shape has change to adopted into the surrounding environments. I applying random rotation nurbs into the x and y plane to control the amount of rotation onto the surface. It create very interest geometry surface which in a sense of randomness patterns but is rotated in similar side by side. This represents the range of nature’s organic patterns, when ice molecules apply onto an object and change it form of geometry.

Iteration 5 – 7
•It this series of images I try to represent the unison patterns of the snowflakes crystals form and apply into the three dimensional geometry, it show identity of pitch and shape between each other. Also use panelling tool to create iteration image 6.

Iteration 8 – 10
•I added jitter nurbs which is randomly shuffles a list of values of parameter in a set of series component and apply into x, y and z values of sizes and also added random nurbs to controls directions. In image 9 it show the combination of jitter and random nurbs.

Iteration 11 – 13
•Using voronoi nurbs which can collection of oriented box geometry and added control polygon to compose the shape the object.
